She is also a two-time World Team member and has a long career of national and international titles. From Providence, Rhode Island, Marissa grew up skating alongside her mom, Lori Castelli, who is also a figure skating coach. Marissa and Simon together toured the world both as competitive skaters gracing the ice stage around the world at numerous international competitions including Four Continents, NHK Trophy, Ice Challenge, Skate America, and more.

At the end of her partnership with Simon Shnapir, Marissa began skating with fellow pair skater, Mervin Tran, whom she went on to have additional success with. Together Marissa and Mervin medaled at various national and international competitions including becoming the U. Pairs silver medalists, and U. Pairs bronze medalists.

Today, Marissa teaches freestyle, moves in the field, choreography and performance skills. She enjoys working with skaters of all ages and levels, focusing on improving and enhancing skating skills, body movement and style on the ice. She specializes in helping up and coming skaters feel confident and in control of their own skating and style.

Coaching Philosophy: I take pride in inspiring skaters of all ages and levels to feel the best they can about their skating while having fun and being passionate about the sport of figure skating. It is my endeavor to pass along my experience with skating to the next generation of champions at The Skating Club of Boston.
